Η κυβέρνηση Χριστοδουλίδη σέρνει τη χώρα κάθε φορά πιο κοντά σε έναν περιφερειακό πόλεμο. Για πρώτη φορά, ο ηγέτης της Χεζμπολλάχ, Χασάν Νασράλα, δηλώνει ότι και η Κύπρος μπορεί να είναι στόχος κτυπήματος, αν συνεχίσει να είναι αρωγός στο κράτος του Ισραήλ. Με δεδομένη τη σχέση της Χεζμπολάχ με το Ιράν, εύλογα εξάγεται το συμπέρασμα ότι αυτή η προειδοποίηση δεν προέρχεται μόνο από τη Βηρυτό.
Η ενεργή εμπλοκή της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας στη γενοκτονία που διαπράττει το Ισραήλ εναντίον των Παλαιστινίων, η συνεχής αρωγή στους πολεμικούς σχεδιασμούς των χωρών του ΝΑΤΟ, οι συμφωνίες με τις ΗΠΑ, έχουν κόστος.
Η μετατροπή της Κύπρου σε πεδίο πολεμικών ασκήσεων για το κράτος του Ισραήλ εδώ και αρκετά χρόνια, η εμπλοκή της Κύπρου στην εξαγωγή του συστήματος παρακολουθήσεων Pegasus, η μετατροπή ολόκληρων περιοχών του νησιού σε πεδίο εκμετάλλευσης από ισραηλινά κεφάλαια, έχουν κόστος.
Το κόστος από κάτι τέτοιο δεν το πληρώνει όμως κανένας Χριστοδουλίδης και καμιά κυβέρνηση. Το κόστος, όπως πάντα, θα το πληρώσει ο απλός κόσμος, είτε ως άμεσα θύματα των πολεμικών συρράξεων είτε έμμεσα μέσω των αυξημένων δαπανών για τη στρατιωτική άμυνα και τις περικοπές σε όλα τα άλλα. Πόλεμος, φτώχεια και φασισμός πάνε μαζί.
Πρέπει αμέσως να βάλουμε φραγμό στην εγκληματική εμπλοκή της Κύπρου, τόσο στη γενοκτονία που διαπράττεται δίπλα μας όσο και ευρύτερα στους ιμπεριαλιστικούς σχεδιασμούς. Πρέπει τώρα, χωρίς καθυστέρηση, να απαιτήσουμε να σταματήσει η Κύπρος να είναι ορμητήριο πολεμικών μηχανών.

The Christodoulides government is dragging the country closer and closer to a regional war. For the first time, the leader of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, has stated that Cyprus can also be a target of a strike if it continues to assist the State of Israel. Given Hezbollah’s relationship with Iran, it is reasonable to conclude that this warning does not only come from Beirut.
The active involvement of the Republic of Cyprus in the genocide committed by Israel against the Palestinians, the constant assistance to the war plans of the NATO countries and the agreements with the USA have a cost.
The transformation of Cyprus into a battlefield for the State of Israel for several years now, the involvement of Cyprus in the export of the Pegasus surveillance system, the transformation of entire areas of the island into a field of exploitation by Israeli capital – all have a cost.
But the cost of this is not paid by Christodoulides or any government. The cost, as always, will be paid by ordinary people, either as direct victims of military conflicts or indirectly through increased spending on the military budget and cuts in everything else. War, poverty and fascism go hand in hand.
We must immediately put a stop to the criminal involvement of Cyprus, both in the genocide being committed next door and in the imperialist planning more widely. We must immediately demand that Cyprus is not a base for war machines.

End the involvement of the Cyprus government in the wars of Israel and NATO.
