In 1976, political thinker and literary analyst Edward Said arrived in Nicosia, to take part in a conference on the rights of small nations. He was representing Palestine. 

On Thursday the 26th at 19.30 we commemorate the work of Edward Said on Palestinian liberation through a screening of his documentary “The Shadow of the West,” followed by a discussion. 

Entry to Social Space Kaymakkin is always free, but we will be collecting donations to provide direct aid on the ground in Gaza. 

Invoking the 1976 conference of small nations, we reject the mechanisms of western imperialism. Free Palestine.
