Resistance in Congo

afoa Internationalism* invites you to an information and solidarity evening with the people of Congo:

 There will be a screening of a 10’ video about Lucha, a grassroots movement based in the Democratic Republic of Congo, followed by a conversation and Q+A with a member of Lucha who will join us online.

 How is resistance practiced in highly repressive contexts? What strategies are followed by Lucha, and how do activist mobilisation take place?

 There will be a donation box where all funds will be transferred to the activist group, Lucha.

* This is the first event of our newly established group ‘afoa Internationalism’. The goal of the group is to expand our relations with collectives and networks abroad that share our values and principles. In an effort to internationalise our struggle by speaking out about the systemic oppression experienced in our region, we also seek to educate ourselves by learning about struggles and contexts outside Cyprus, with a particular focus on the Global South.
