coalition of DISY, DIKO, ELAM, EDEK, and DIPA. Those in power believe that this will silence social protest and allow them to continue plundering the social majority unhindered. Beyond the spectacle of &#8220;order and security&#8221; they sell at every opportunity, the new law is yet another step towards totalitarianism and the consolidation of the police state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The direct targeting we experienced yesterday by Annita Dimitriou and Haris Georgiadis, who pushed the bill to pass, foreshadows the treatment we will receive from the elite in the days to come. DISY is not being silenced as Annita said while silencing her opponents &#8211; the arrogance of power is difficult to hide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This situation clearly highlights the inequalities in accessing and participating in the public discourse. The leadership of DISY can even misinform and create impressions from the benches of Parliament and television channels, while organisations opposing the bill could only express their opposition through their physical presence in the streets, a space that is now restricted by the new law, leaving the social media microcosm as the only space for free speech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of the social base, we see our lives losing value every day: prices and rents are skyrocketing, workers&#8217; rights are being fragmented, and social cannibalism is taking over. At the same time, there is always money for equipment used by the army, and the police, but never for the basic needs of society. We know that the aim of the law is neither security nor order, but to silence any voice that aims to organise and act against all this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Starting today, we are building on the dynamic struggle against the bill of recent weeks and the social alliance that has been formed in order to face the battles ahead. As the legacy of social and class struggles around the world teaches us, history is written through disobedience. Beyond the spectacle of &#8220;order and security&#8221; they sell at every opportunity, the new law is yet another step towards totalitarianism and the consolidation of the police state. The direct targeting we experienced yesterday by Annita Dimitriou and Haris Georgiadis, who pushed the bill to pass, foreshadows the treatment we will receive from the elite in the days to come. DISY is not being silenced as Annita said while silencing her opponents &#8211; the arrogance of power is difficult to hide. This situation clearly highlights the inequalities in accessing and participating in the public discourse. The leadership of DISY can even misinform and create impressions from the benches of Parliament and television channels, while organisations opposing the bill could only express their opposition through their physical presence in the streets, a space that is now restricted by the new law, leaving the social media microcosm as the only space for free speech. As part of the social base, we see our lives losing value every day: prices and rents are skyrocketing, workers&#8217; rights are being fragmented, and social cannibalism is taking over. At the same time, there is always money for equipment used by the army, and the police, but never for the basic needs of society. We know that the aim of the law is neither security nor order, but to silence any voice that aims to organise and act against all this. Starting today, we are building on the dynamic struggle against the bill of recent weeks and the social alliance that has been formed in order to face the battles ahead. As the legacy of social and class struggles around the world teaches us, history is written through disobedience. Solidarity and organized collective political action remain our only
