legislation to criminalise conversion \u201ctherapies\u201d that aim toward the reassignment of sexuality, gender identity, or gender expression. Through the amendment, the fascist party is essentially seeking to render the legislation meaningless by attempting, on the one hand, to exempt priests from any penalties and, on the other hand, to legitimise these \u201cmethods\u201d in cases where \u201cconsent\u201d is present. Given that these practices constitute a recognised form of torture and that, in most cases, it is priests who carry out these \u201ctreatments\u201d (e.g. exorcisms), the proposed amendment aims to create the framework for the continuation of the such \u201ctherapies\u201d.
